Species: Kharguin - Striped Hyena
Height: 262cm

- Notable Bodily Augmentations -
Reinforced hip, knee and ankle joints to support his digitigrade frame and a spinal load-distribution implant to assist with his carrying of equipment.

Respiratory and temperature regulation hardware connected to his back, with subdermal diagnostic ports across his body for use by medical personnel.

Auditory dampeners to protect him from loud weapons fire and industrial noise, along with synthetic muscle grafts for tissues damaged during service.
After a coolant leak that threatened the lives of several guards and innocent workers. He Disobeyed a direct containment order and released prisoners during an emergency evacuation, resulting in multiple escapes and the death of a fellow guard.

Which lead into charges of -
Gross insubordination, unauthorised breach of containment, negligent facilitation of prisoner escape, and dereliction of duty.

Charges were dropped publicly, as families of saved loved ones were displeased with the account on Varkhesh's side.
Varkhesh was gestated and raised aboard a Nursery Station like others of his bio-engineered and bodymodded kind, a station known as 'Orvek' which was a mobile population and training facility on the far outreaches of the galaxy that traveled alongside an outer-sector naval formation. 'Orvek' is not a family name effectively, but Varkhesh had no recognised parentage when he was dropped off at the Nursery Station and thus gained the 'Orvek' name as part of his registry.

Having been dropped off and raised aboard this Kharguin flotilla of wandering clan-vessels, he knows almost nothing of his biological ancestry other than he is a Kharguin from a gene-line of striped-hyena's and effectively 'modded' from an uplifted stock that had been refined across several generations for work aboard military vessels and prisoner habs. This line of body modding was intended to produce members who were large enough to be physically imposing and resiliant enough for security and emergency response duties.

By no means is he a supersoldier or otherwise, but situated closer to what 'peak' human capabilities might be, if he wasn't also older and at this point in time a bit worn from his previous positions aboard the Kharguin Flotilla. Merely made into a very productive individual within the naval security path.

He spent most of his adult life working as a soldier and even contracted security officers aboard various freighters and refugee vessels and prisoner transports, where even further body modifications accumulated throughout that career in order to replace and improve damaged joints and muscles in order to support his large frame through variable gravities and years of wearing heavy equipment.

His most recent career change came aboard a prisoner transport called the 'Resolute Mercy', an unfortunate accident by a neglectful engineer had caused a coolant failure aboard the ship which left prisoners, guards and maintenance personnel trapped within a sealed detention ring; the coolant leaking into the ring and effectively wiping out half of the population of innmates and guards within barely a few moments.

What survivors existed within compartmentalized were suck, and would certainly die before any amount of help could arrive to get them. However, Varkhesh was ordered to keep the section locked, and against this order he made the move to open an evacuation route through various bulkheads; venting the ring in stages and opening doors in order to save dozens of Kharguin and prisoners who were left alive.

Unfortunately, by doing so, he had unintentionally let several dangerous prisoners to escape during the confusion and a junior guard had been killed.

Through a mixture of praise and blame for disobeying orders, he was reassigned to increasingly remote postings and his position besmirched and disgraced; bringing him to a new station with determination to prove his competence.
Varkhesh isn't needlessly cruel, but neither is he soft when it comes to dealing with his work. He speaks slowly and rarely raises his voice, has a predators intonation and often speaks in ways that could cause fear amongst others, despite being a bit of a softy outside of work. He makes sure to provide clear and understandable warnings to be understood the first time, and acts decisively with force when it becomes necessary too.

Respectful towards those who admit mistakes, disrespectful to those who lie and cheat, and no patience for those who hide behind rank.

He dislikes -
1. Unnecessary shouting.
2. Careless handling of prisoners.
3. Officers withholding important information.
4. Poorly maintained equipment.
5. People touching his equipment without permission.
6. Being praised as heroic for the incident that ruined his career.

Quietly favours inmates who work reliably and don't create danger for others, but that doesn't mean he treats them as equals - He simply believes that predictable and good behaviour is something that should be rewarded.

He's institutionalised, which means he struggles to make personal decisions without turning them into procedures, rigid due to this. Improvisation can frustrate him, unless he is the one responding to the emergency.

He is emotionally delayed, meaning that he will remain calm and collected during danger but will often process the fear and grief much later after the event.

Incredibly reputation concious, things such as accusations regarding cowardice or imcompetence will affect him far more than he might admit.

He is incredibly overprotective, he will often remove other peoples choices while convincing himself that he is doing so in their best interest in order to keep them safe and 'on the narrow path' so to speak.
